We provide immediate, practical assistance for individuals and families facing hardship. Whether you need emergency relief, access to food, or support during the festive season, our team is here to help.
Emergency relief
Emergency Relief provides support for people facing immediate financial crisis, including those who cannot afford to buy food or pay essential bills. It may also assist with unexpected family-related expenses such as bereavement, illness, or other urgent circumstances.
This is a face-to-face service. Access to Emergency Relief is available through an Emergency Relief Worker or as part of a Financial Counselling appointment.
All assistance is provided following a financial assessment to ensure support is appropriate, fair, and focused on immediate need.
Jacaranda Community Centre currently receives Emergency Relief funding through the Commonwealth Government
While priority is given to people experiencing vulnerability within the Belmont and surrounding areas, assistance may also be available to others depending on eligibility, funding availability, and service demand.

Each year, Jacaranda Community Centre provides Christmas assistance to support individuals and families experiencing financial hardship during the festive season.
This program is made possible through the generous support of community partners and donors, including the Department of Housing and Works, Business and Professional Women (Belmont), Synergy, Highgate Primary School, as well as local community members and organisations.
Christmas assistance helps bring relief and joy during a challenging time, with support such as food hampers, gifts for children, and essential household items where available. The program is designed to ease financial pressure and ensure families in need can experience a more positive festive season.
